In 1784, Austrian Emperor Joseph II issued a decree permitting all winemakers to open an establishment to sell their own wines. As a result, the Viennese “Heurigen” culture was born.
At this time, the Steinklammer business was already almost 100 years old. Today we serve our guests with the culture and knowledge that accompanies a family business that is more than 300 years in the making.
Natural wine-growing, high quality wines, homemade local specialties, and an idyllic garden give our guests the opportunity to enjoy the real Viennese “G'miatlichkeit,” a place to wind down and relax in a comfortable atmosphere.
The Heurigen owner, Helene Fuchs-Steinklammer, also a certified sommelier, took over the business in 2003 and works personally to ensure the contentment and satisfaction of every guest.
